A Pro Series / Class A Series etc.)
- FPI <1,0
- mind.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Starting next season, the drivers will be distributed according to the following rules:
- If there are more than 60 registrations for a class, the drivers are divided into a Pro Series and a Normal Series (Class A Pro Series / Class A Series etc.).
- The classification is based on the Fair Play Index (FPI). The FPI is determined based on a driver's last 40 races. The FPI you can find under Stats on the homepage.
Note: One season currently has 39 races. By including the last 40 races in the FPI rating, it is ensured that driving must be reasonable from the first race of the season.
- Limit = 60 drivers per series.
- After the registration deadline, drivers will be distributed in a ratio of 60% (Pro) and 40% (Normal). It is not possible to switch to and start with the Pro during the season. From the 86th registration in a class (52 drivers Pro / 34 drivers Normal) the Pro series will be filled up to a limit of 60 drivers with every further registration.
Note: Because during the season no new drivers come to a Pro Series, the Pro driver field will be larger at the start of the season. Even if the Normal Series starts with fewer drivers, this is compensated for by new registrations during the season.
- In addition, the following criteria must be met in order to be allowed to drive in the Pro Series:
- FPI <1,0
- at least 4 races (for Class A) and at least 2 races (for Class B and C) in the last season
Exception: If seats remain free, then those with the most races will move up (3, 2, 1). With more drivers than seats, the FPI decides.
Note: There is no change in the Pro Series driver field during the season. We want to prevent drivers from registering who will not be racing. But other drivers are not allowed to drive in the Pro Series.
- at least 9 VO races for a Pro Series, at least 18 races for all Pro Series
Note: A minimum number of 9 races enables you to have the chance to drive at least in a Pro Series after just one season. But the significance of the FPI is not so high after 9 races, you can only drive in all Pro series from 18 races.
- If you have reached the Yellow Card limit in the previous season, you cannot drive in the corresponding Pro series.
- It is not possible to switch to and start with the Pro during the season.
- New drivers and drivers who do not meet the above criteria start in the Normal Series. But new drivers must show the corresponding iRacing license to get a start permission.
- The probation rule for new drivers remains. If the probation is not passed:
Suspension: 3 races (B and C Series) and 6 races (Class A Series). - The team regulation remains.
Note: We are aware that the rule can result in drivers of a team having to drive in different grids. But green races have priority for us, so that the team rules, which are not available at NASCAR, must give way to the new VO system. But this should be an additional motivation to drive so that the FPI is correct and you can drive together in a series. Since the races take place in parallel, it is still ensured that you meet together in the Discord / TS.
Since our new system also has to pass the practical test, of course we do not know 100% what the effects will be. So please be patient in the start-up phase. For the 2021-1 season, it is not unlikely that we will make small changes.
But the changes has not changed the basic principle that clean driving and regular participation in the races at VO are rewarded.
