  • Feempy Have they implemented that draft model for the B car yet? If they have, then I didn't notice it like you do in the A car.

It feels definitely different to me from last year. It feels a bit more dynamic. There seems to be some real side draft. But it seems to be a (much) weaker version than the A car. Which I guess makes sense with the smaller spoilers.

In practice I ran with two other cars 3 wide without help and we could pull each other back when 1 car got a nose in front. Also if you run with 2 cars nose to tail there seems to be a small bubble. And in the draft there seems to be a little bit more momentum buildup.

  • Though, I don't remember any changes to the draft for the B and C cars.

me neither, so there might also be a small chance I'm seeing things that aren't there. :engel:

But I'm pretty sure I've experienced things in the race and practice that weren't possible last year with this car.....

Like with our incident you describe it as I slowed down as I can assure you I was full throttle the entire time. Based on what I saw in the replay you were also off the throttle trying not to run in to me. But I think based on how we were not lined up properly we still hit each other.

I don't think the car/aero model worked exactly like this last year.

And one final example, last year when you had two lines side by side, the inside pulled in front in the turns and the outside would get back on the straight. Now it looked more like the outside line could stall the inside line out more in the turn, creating an equal speed through the turns. And then off the turns the outside would have a run, but half way on the straight the inside would catch up again.

  • Was ein wildes Rennen.

no. only for CUP SSW and CUP INT (1.0 miles and above).

there is a little bit sidedraft in B and C when you drive really really really close (netcode close). rest is as usual

Wie gesagt. Shit happens.

    Just Daytona things. ^^

  • the lap 17 incident was unfortunate - the two cars in front of you checked up - I think one of them got a bit squirrelly when he touch the yellow line. My left front just caught your right rear as you dived right to avoid the guy in front and around I went.

Me again in the last yellow - when you moved down in front of me and immediately checked up I hit your rear. Don't know if you saw the wreck in front before moving down, if so would have been best to stay high I think.

Da war vorne Rechts schon was eingedrückt. ;)

  • @feepy No problem, racing at 200mph things get tight real quick.

I initially got out the gas sharply when you first showed signs of moving down into the second lane but because of where it happened on the banking transition into turn three lifting out the throttle so quickly set the weight in a funny position in the car which unbalanced it a lot, to the point where I was putting in A LOT of steering movement but the car was still still able to hold its corner radius, after that I had two choices, brake harshly to get the weight properly over the front tires for them to grip up or my other choice (the one I went with) was to throttle back up to stick the weight back over the rear and drive through the “head shake”. Without having a good idea of what cars were doing behind me at this moment of time I deemed that the safest option as you'd moved back up the track a little bit.

However this meant that when we finally made contact further in the turn, the car pitched forward and the right side tires were finally the ones to get loaded up and the car shot in that direction.

    It's all fun and games.

    See you out there 🙂
